Cause You Are Mine*

I love you so much; it’s reckless, like rivers

breaking their own banks just to touch the sea.

My heart is a riot when you’re near,

a wildfire that prays never to be quenched.

Without you, love, the sky forgets its blue

I don’t ever want to live in a world

where your name is silenced on my lips, cause you are mine.

You are thunder wearing soft perfume,

a gentle storm that ruins me sweetly.

Loving you is hunger… holy, wild,

the kind that makes fasting feel like death.

Every second without you feels like war.

My soul wears your name like second skin

don’t you see? You breathe, I breathe, cause you are mine.

You are to me what dawn is to the dark

proof that endings are just places light hides.

I would tear time apart just to hold you

and rebuild it brick by heartbeat brick.

Even the stars envy this madness we share.

I choose you every time, even in lifetimes unborn,

because nothing makes sense if it’s not with you, cause you are mine.
